                         Dal Tadka 

Ingredients:

Toor Dal                                    - 200gms.

Turmeric Powder                   - ½ Teaspoon 

Ghee                                          - 1 Tablespoon

Oil                                              - 1 Teaspoon 

Mustard Seeds                         - ½ Teaspoon 

Cumin Seeds                            - 1 Teaspoon 

Dry Red Chilli                          - 2 Nos.

Garlic (Chopped)                     - 1 Tablespoon 

Asafoetida Powder                 - ½ Teaspoon 

Red Chilli Powder                    - 1 Teaspoon 

Amchur Powder                       - 1 Teaspoon 

Water                                          - As Required      

Salt                                               - As Required 

Coriander Leaves (Chopped)  - 3 Tablespoons 

Preparation:

- Take a pressure cooker and add the toor dal, turmeric powder, asafoetida and required water. Close the lid and pressure cook the dal for six to seven whistles.

- Now take a pan. Heat one tablespoon of ghee and one teaspoon of oil.

- Add the mustard seeds, cumin seeds, chopped garlic and the dry red chillies and temper them.

- Then, add the red chilli powder, amchur powder and the cooked toor dal. Add required water to it. Cook it for around seven to ten minutes in simmer until the raw smell of the masalas goes off.

- Once done, garnish the dal with the chopped coriander leaves.

- The protein rich 'Dal Tadka' is ready to serve.

- This delicious recipe goes well with rice, roti or chapathi.
